Massachusetts Considering Online Gaming After Casino Operators Don't Object

As two big resort casinos are under construction in Massachusetts, state lawmakers are looking into whether to allow online gambling.

Currently, fantasy sports betting is the only online gaming that is legal in Massachusetts, but a legislative committee is looking into whether to allow some other forms of gambling online and how to regulate it, according to Massachusetts Gaming Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby.

"I would say by the middle of this year there might be something for the legislature to look at," he said.

Crosby said the state’s three licensed casino operators do not object to making online gambling legal.

The Massachusetts State Lottery wants the legislature’s approval to offer online games.
