New York Wins Third Straight After 24-20 Win Over Raiders

In the NFL, Terrell Thomas returned an interception 65 yards to set up a go-ahead 1-yard touchdown run by Andre Brown as the Giants topped the Raiders 24-20. Brown rushed for 115 yards in his first game of the season to help New York win its third straight.

Elsewhere, Pittsburgh snapped a two-game losing streak in a 23-10 win over the visiting Bills.  It was Baltimore over Cincinnati 20-17 in overtime. Detroit topped Chicago 21-19. Jacksonville defeated Tennessee 29-27. Philadelphia passed Green Bay 27-13. Seattle crushed Atlanta 33-10. St. Louis won against Indianapolis 38-8. Carolina edged San Francisco 10-9. Denver beat San Diego 28-20. Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes. Arizona slid past Houston 27-24 and Dallas fell to New Orleans 49-17. Drew Brees completed 34 of 41 passes for 392 yards and four touchdowns.

Over to the NBA, Danny Green had 24 points and a career-high 10 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs pounded the Knicks in New York 120-89. Oklahoma City beat Washington 106-105. Phoenix took New Orleans 101-94 and Minnesota topped the Lakers 113-90.

Checking news on the ice, Montreal doubled up the NY Islanders 4-2. It was the NY Rangers over Florida 4-3. New Jersey shut out Nashville 5-0. Chicago beat Edmonton 5-4. Winnipeg passed San Jose 5-4 in a shootout. Anaheim defeated Vancouver 3-1 and Colorado trumped Washington 4-1.

In college basketball, No. 1 Kentucky crushed Northern Kentucky 93-63 and No. 21 Notre Dame had a 80-49 win over Stetson.

In other sports news, Florida State moved up to No. 2 in this week's The Associated Press college football poll, the Seminoles' best ranking since 2000.

The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team defeated Brazil 4-1.

In tennis, Rafael Nadal advanced to the final of the ATP World Tour Finals. He defeated Roger Federer in the semifinals 7-5, 6-3 and will face Novak Djokovic.
