NTSB Investigates Plane Crash

Federal experts are still in the early stages of investigating a small plane crash that killed one man and injured another in upstate New York.

The National Transportation Safety Board says it may take a year to report the likely cause of the wreck in suburban Albany.

The men reported an engine problem and attempted an emergency landing shortly after take-off Wednesday from Albany International Airport. The Beechcraft Bonanza skidded into some trees, killing 67-year-old Walter Uccellini of Albany.

The man initially described as the pilot, 68-year-old James Quinn of Westerlo, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The NTSB says Thursday both men were certified pilots and the plane had dual controls, so the probe will include both their roles during the flight.

Uccellini founded a Troy-based real estate development company. Quinn is the company's vice chairman.
