Officials have released the names of the six people who died when a Metro-North commuter train Tuesday hit an SUV stopped on the tracks at a rail crossing in Westchester County. Five were from Westchester.

The driver of the SUV was 49-year-old Ellen Brody of Edgemont in the Town of Greenburgh in Westchester. The five rail passengers who died were 53-year-old Eric Vandercar of Bedford, senior managing director at Mesirow Financial; 69-year-old Walter Liedtke of Bedford Hills, curator of European painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; 36-year-old Chappaqua resident Robert Dirks; 42-year-old Ossining resident Joseph Nadol; and 41-year-old Aditya Tomar of Danbury, Connecticut, the latter according to several media reports citing confirmation by Danbury’s mayor. A National Transportation Safety Board investigation continues.
