The three-day federal government shutdown has ended and a temporary spending measure funds federal agencies through February 8. Senate Democrats agreed to sign off on the measure after Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pledged that lawmakers would take up immigration proposals, which held up talks to prevent a shutdown last week.
