The prosecutor in Vermont's largest county and the state attorney general's office say no charges are warranted against two law enforcement officers who shot and killed a drug suspect during a raid on his Burlington apartment last month.
Chittenden County State's Attorney T.J. Donovan announced Thursday the results of his investigation into the Dec. 22 raid that ended with the death of 56-year-old Kenneth Stephens.

Separately, the attorney general's office released its own report that said the officers were justified when they shot and killed Stephens.

Police and federal agents used a battering ram to enter the apartment.

Stephens aimed a loaded muzzle loading rifle at officers, but it was incapable of firing.

Stephens was shot seven times.
