New York State Assemblyman Pete Lopez of the 102nd district announced his plans to run for U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson's seat after the Kinderhook Republican's term ends. The Catskill Daily Mail reports that Lopez announced that he and Gibson have been working closely together. Gibson said in January that this would be his last term in the House and is exploring a statewide run in 2018.
