Report: Automation A Threat To New York Jobs

taxcredits.net

The automation of American jobs poses a serious threat.

That’s according to a new report by the Center for an Urban Future, which says in New York State alone, there are 1.2 million jobs that are highly automatable – meaning 80 percent of the work can be done by machines.

But it’s not too late for American workers.

WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke with the Center for an Urban Future managing editor Eli Dvorkin about what can be done and which jobs are most vulnerable.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
