An extensive road resurfacing project in southern Vermont will begin Thursday.
Milling and repaving will occur on Routes 7 and 9 in Bennington.

The first part of the project is estimated to take three days, and construction is scheduled for 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each day.

The Bennington Banner reports Town Manager Stuart Hurd says the estimated end date for the entire project is early October.

Drivers are urged to use caution while the project is under construction, as manholes and water shut-offs will be unleveled.

Hurd says tractor trailers will be discouraged from driving through the area, but tourists are welcome.

The stretch of road hasn't been repaved in more than a decade.
