Albany, NY – A movie that's certain to become an international blockbuster, is having its world premiere at the historic Palace Theater in Albany. Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports

In Columbia Pictures' Salt, Angelina Jolie stars as Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer who has to go on the run after a set up, accused of being a KGB sleeper agent. Jolie and her film crew literally stopped downtown traffic in the spring of 2009 when several streets were used as location shots for the movie. The Palace theater opened as a moviehouse in 1931...the last major motion picture premiere there was back in 1987 for IRONWEED. The cityscape has appeared in other movies over time. 1,200 free tickets were handed out before 10 this morning. No more tickets will be given out until 10 a.m. Monday, when the remaining block for the 2,800-seat Palace will become available at the theater's box office. The special screening at the Palace is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday, July 22nd.
