Sanders Considers Presidential Run In 2016

Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean ran a progressive campaign for president in 2004 before falling short in the Democratic primary. Could another Vermont lawmaker make a run for the White House in 2016? Speaking to WAMC’s Alan Chartock on the Congressional Corner, U.S. independent Senator Bernie Sanders addressed rumors that he could be a candidate.

"Somebody is gonna have to stand up and raise those issues and let working families around this country know that their pain is understood. That somebody knows there is a whole lot of folks out there who are hurting, who understands that it's just not right that a small number of people have so much while so many have so little," Sanders says, "So that's the point Alan, somebody has got to do it, if nobody else does it, then I'll do it. But somebody has got to do it."
