Securities Official To Head Vermont Financial Regulation

One of Vermont's top securities regulators has been named commissioner of the Department of Financial Regulation.
The appointment of Michael Pieciak was announced Tuesday by Governor Peter Shumlin.

Pieciak succeeds former Commissioner Susan Donegan, whose last day on the job was June 30.

Pieciak played a lead role in the investigation into the Jay Peak EB-5 projects, which culminated with the state and the federal Securities and Exchange Commission filing civil charges against two men.

Pieciak grew up in Brattleboro.
