The president of the Shaker Museum in New Lebanon has resigned after eight years with the organization.David Stocks joined the Shaker Museum in 2007 and worked to expand its geographic reach through exhibitions in New York City, Maine and even the Netherlands.
Stocks oversaw the acquisition of 60 acres of Shaker land next to the museum’s Great Stone Barn and advocated for the Mount Lebanon U.S. Forest Legacy Program, which will preserve more than 1,300 acres of Shaker lands through the Columbia Land Conservancy.
Stocks is leaving for a position with the Education Foundation of America based in Garrsion, NY.
