Spirit of Woodstock
The Spirit of Woodstock award, created by the Woodstock Film Festival, is given each year to a resident of the Hudson Valley who best exemplifies the traits that make Woodstock an iconic arts colony: arts advocacy, public service, environmental advocacy and a passion for peace. This year’s recipient is Congressman Maurice Hinchey.
Actor Aidan Quinn will present the award to Hinchey, who is retiring from politics in November.
Aidan Quinn is a member of WFF's advisory board and has acted in numerous films (Desperately Seeking Susan, Legends of the Fall) and television series (White Collar). He has been nominated for two Emmy Awards – he joins us this morning along with WFF co-founder and executive director Meira Blaustein to tell us more about tomorrow night’s event. Welcome!
Rep. Maurice Hinchey will receive the Spirit of Woodstock award at 7 p.m. tomorrow night (Saturday 7/21) . The presentation takes place at Ledgerock at Hyde Park. Go to woodstockfilmfestival.com for more information.
