Springfield, Vermont Residents Speak Out Over Crime Rate
By Pat Bradley
Residents in Springfield, Vt., say they are outraged about growing crime in their neighborhoods and they have presented a list of possible solutions to improve things.
The Eagle-Times reports the most recent concern was sparked by a shooting on July 9 that resulted in arrest on a charge of attempted murder.
Residents asked police to make fighting the growing use of drugs in the community a top priority and increase foot patrols. They also asked for greater communication between the school district and the city.
They made their comments Monday at a selectboard meeting.
