State Asks No Online Vermont Health Connect Fixes

Officials are asking users of Vermont's health care exchange system not to make online changes to their policies during the upcoming open enrollment period.

Health care reform chief Lawrence Miller says the state is preparing for changes by up to 60 percent of the customers of Vermont Health Connect.

Miller told the Legislative Committee on Health Reform the site will be up and running before the next open enrollment period begins on Nov. 15. The system was taken down last month for repairs.

Miller urged customers updating their policies to do so either on paper or by contacting one of the exchange's navigators

The Rutland Herald reports, however, that new customers will be able to apply through the website.

Open enrollment will run from Nov. 15 to Feb. 15.
