State Bailout for Springfield Closer to Reality
Springfield, MA – Massachusetts lawmakers have again revised a financial aid package for the city of Springfield. The city is in need of state help to fill a $20 million hole in their budget. In the past few weeks, legislators have disagreed over the shape the package will take. In its current version, it will be similar to the financial aid that was offered to Pittsfield when it fell upon hard times several years ago. WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief Kelly Wilkinson has more.
