SUNY New Paltz Distinguished Speaker Series Presents Amy Waldman
By Joe Donahue
Amy Waldman is a former New York Times journalist and author of The Submission, an acclaimed novel that imagines the angry fallout when a jury chooses an anonymous design for a Sept. 11 memorial at ground zero, and the architect turns out to be Muslim American. The reaction from the jury members, the public, and the victims' families is both complex and emotional.
The One Book/One New Paltz Committee has selected The Submission for their 2012 community read and Waldman will be at SUNY New Paltz on November 1 at 7:30pm.
