Albany, NY – We've all heard of Fredrick Douglas and Sojourner Truth's quest to abolish slavery, but before them was a man named John Woolman. Though he never held political office, he was a pacifist, social activist and mystic committed to bring peace and equality to the world during the 18th century. In his book, The Beautiful Soul of John Woolman, Apostle of Abolition, historian John Slaughter tells us more about Woolman's life.
