ALBANY – The early count of the five State Supreme Court candidates who won in the 9th Judicial District shows that Victor Grossman was the top vote getter. The other four apparent winners in the 10-person field included John Colangelo, Maria Vazquez-Doles, Mark Dillon and John Sweeny, Jr.
Absentee ballots have yet to be counted, but candidate Mark Dillon has gone to court and secured an order to show cause, preventing those from being opened right away.
The Ninth Judicial District includes the counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester. A total of 1.4 million ballots were cast on Election Day in the Supreme Court justice races.
