Just before 1 Wednesday afternoon, a young black bear that had spent the night in a residential neighborhood tree, fell to the ground after being tranquilized. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation tweeted that "After assessment by wildlife biologists on the scene, it has been decided that for humane and nuisance reasons the bear will be put down." The bruin suffered wounds from being hit by a car Tuesday. DEC says the bear is about 2 yrs old - 125lbs - ear tags revealed the bear traveled all the way to the Capital City from Pennsylvania. The visit marked the third time the bear has encroached on populated areas.
