Utility Found Liable For Emissions Pollution

Plattsburgh, NY – New York and other northeastern states, in conjunction with the EPA, filed suit in 1999 against the Ohio Edison Company citing violations of the Clean Air Act. A federal judge in Ohio ruled late last week against Ohio Edison.While environmentalists and New York's Attorney General say it's a precedent-setting ruling, utility officials say it's not that significant.
