The final person on trial for the murders of three Pittsfield, Massachusetts men has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Judge Jeffrey Kinder sentenced 34-year-old Caius Veiovis to life in prison without parole Monday. On Friday, jurors in Hampden Superior Court found Veiovis guilty on three counts each of kidnapping, witness intimidation and first degree murder. In separate trials earlier this year, Adam Lee Hall and David Chalue were convicted and sentenced to life in prison for their roles in the killings of David Glasser, Edward Frampton and Robert Chadwell. Their dismembered bodies were found in Becket two weeks after they disappeared from a Pittsfield apartment in August 2011. Berkshire District Attorney David Capeless.
“Justice has been served,” said Berkshire District Attorney David Capeless shortly after the verdict was delivered Friday afternoon. “I would never think to say that the grief suffered by the friends and families of David Glasser, Ed Frampton and Robert Chadwell have been assuaged. That unfortunately does not happen.”
Veiovis, who pleaded not guilty, said he was innocent at the sentencing after the victims’ friends and families spoke. He had snapped at jurors Friday.
