Vermont Ends Relationship With Health Care Vendor

State health officials say Vermont is ending its contract with CGI, the company that designed Vermont's trouble-plagued Vermont Health Connect website.

Vermont's health care overhaul chief Lawrence Miller made the comments Monday. He said it was a difficult decision to end the relationship with CGI, which developed the troubled Vermont Health Connect website where people up for health insurance.

Miller said the website is still failing many people who are trying to manage their health insurance via the online marketplace. The state has hired the company Optum to continue work to fix the site's problems.

Miller says the state is also separating the operations and development divisions at Vermont Health Connect.

In a statement, CGI said it was proud to play a role in helping 85 percent of eligible Vermonters enroll in health plans.
