Vermont Transportation Board To Hold 1st Of 6 Hearings

Vermont Transportation Board

The Vermont Transportation Board is touring the state to gather input on state transportation policy.
The board is seeking comment on public transportation, train travel and highway safety, including bicycle and pedestrian safety.

The first of six hearings is planned Wednesday evening at the Rockingham Town Hall.

They will also be asking about the possible legalization of marijuana.

The board identified the topics by working with the Vermont Agency of Transportation and the state's 11 regional planning commissions.

Transportation Board Chairman Nick Marro says that in Vermont and across the country people are driving less and seeking alternatives to the car for travel.

Each year the board travels the state to discuss transportation issues.
