Vermont Yankee Under Scrutiny for Missing Fuel Rods

Vernon, VT – The search for two pieces of missing, radioactive, spent fuel rods at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant will begin with an underwater remote controlled camera. The disclosure that the plant cannot account for the highly radioactive material has spurred reassurances from plant and nuclear officials and outrage from opponents and state officials.
