Vermont's largest hospital is getting a new president.
Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington announced Thursday that Eileen Whalen, a registered nurse with a master's degree in health and hospital administration, will begin her duties early next year.
Whalen is coming to Vermont from the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she served as chief executive.
Whalen will report to Dr. John Brumsted who will remain chief executive officer at Fletcher Allen. He also serves as president of Fletcher Allen Partners, a network of four hospitals in Vermont and northern New York.
Whalen says she and her husband are looking forward to the move to Burlington.
