The work of the WAMC News Team is combined each day with news and features from WAMC's National Productions, the BBC, Great Lakes Radio, and Stardate. You can also get a regional weather forecast from Paul Caiano.

The listener also can hear commentaries offered by a range of commentators who span the political spectrum such as former New York Common Cause leader Paul Elisha, former Republican Comptroller candidate Herb London, Professor of International History and Politics Steven Leibo, as well as WAMC's own political observer Alan Chartock. Berkshire County Planning Efforts Focus On Transportation, Life Sciences

Researchers Analyze Drug Campaigns’ Efforts to Sell Disease

Dartmouth Institute researchers Doctors Lisa Schwartz and Steven Woloshin have published a paper in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) analyzing how the Low Testosterone advertisements so prevalent on television are a perfect template for how drug companies manufacture and sell disease. Top Welfare Official To Live On Food Stamp Budget

The man in charge of administering much of the social services system in Massachusetts is trying to live for a week on a food budget equal to what is provided by a federal assistance program.  It is part of a national campaign by anti-hunger groups to highlight the importance of the program at a time when it is threatened with deep cuts.
