The listener also can hear commentaries offered by a range of commentators who span the political spectrum such as former New York Common Cause leader Paul Elisha, former Republican Comptroller candidate Herb London, Professor of International History and Politics Steven Leibo, as well as WAMC's own political observer Alan Chartock. What To Do About Plastic Grocery Bags?

Vermont And Entergy Reach Agreement On Future Of Vermont Yankee Operations

Springfield Casino Supporters Pleased With Suitability Finding On MGM

Casino supporters in Springfield, Massachusetts received an early Christmas present on Monday. A regulatory ruling paves the way for a final decision this spring on what has been billed as the biggest economic development project in the city’s history

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission, after reviewing a 10- month background investigation, cleared MGM Resorts International to be the lone applicant for a casino license in western Massachusetts. The Las Vegas-based entertainment industry giant is proposing an $800 million resort casino in downtown Springfield.

Farm Aid Distributes More Than $570,000 In Grants To Help Family Farms

Farm Aid recent announced that it has distributed more than $570,000 in grants to family farm and rural service organizations across 36 states and the District of Columbia.

Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard recently spoke with Farm Aid’s Jennifer Fahy about the money raised for family farmers in a year that included the annual concert hosted at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
