The just concluded 2012 legislative session brought mixed results for Governor Cuomo, who is in his second year as governor.  While Cuomo and lawmakers could claim credit for a calm and functional end to the session, the Governor had to drop some of his original goals in order for that to happen.  Capitol Correspondent Karen DeWitt takes a look back…

The state of Connecticut's mosquito management team is unveiling plans for combating the pesky, and potentially harmful, insects.  WAMC’s Tristan O’Neill reports…

Representatives from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are scheduled to discuss mosquito management strategies for the summer season during a news conference, planned for Thursday morning at Bushnell Park in Hartford, across from DEEP's headquarters. The latest techniques, strategies and equipment being used to control mosquitoes will be displayed.

Comedian Louis C.K. sold out his tour while bypassing ticket services like Ticketmaster. He sold tickets on his website for a flat fee of $45. He raised $4.5 million.

Well the Yankees starting rotation has taken a major hit…

Hours after the Yankees placed C.C. Sabathia on the DL with a strained groin, Andy Pettitte was hit by a line drive back through the box, breaking his left fibula right near the ankle.  Robinson Cano supplied a go-ahead, two-run shot to prevent the day from being a total loss, as the Yankees edged Cleveland 5-4.

In Boston, David Ortiz smacked his 399th career home run to help power the Red Sox, who scored six first-inning runs, to a 10-4 rout of Toronto.

Google opened its World Wide Developers conference yesterday with a few announcements — the most notable is its entry into the highly competitive tablet market.

LAURA SYDELL, BYLINE: As NPR's Laura Sydell reports, with the Nexus 7, Google is headed for a market somewhere between the Amazon Fire and Apple's iPad.

It's called the Nexus 7 because it's a seven-inch tablet. Google also announced more content for its online store. In addition to music, movies and books, they will have TV shows and magazines.

In Washington, House and Senate negotiators have reached a deal to fund highway and transportation projects for the next two years. This averts what could have been a dramatic shutdown after years of temporary extensions. The Senate could vote as soon as today, with the House likely to vote Friday.
