WAMC's The Roundtable is an award-winning, nationally recognized eclectic talk program. The show airs from 9am to noon each weekday and features news, interviews, in-depth discussion, listener call-ins, music, and much (much) more! Hosted by Joe Donahue and produced by Sarah LaDuke, The Roundtable tackles serious and lighthearted subjects, looking to explore the many facets of the human condition with civility, respect and responsibility.

The show's hallmark is thoughtful interviews with A-list newsmakers, authors, artists, sports figures, actors, and people with interesting stories to tell. Since hitting the airwaves in May of 2001, The Roundtable has interviewed the likes of Arthur Miller, Kurt Vonnegut, Maya Angelou, Madeleine Albright, Jimmy Carter, John McCain, Bob Dole, Bill O'Reilly, Steve Martin, James Taylor, Bill Cosby, Stephen King, Melissa Etheridge and lots of other really cool people. Plus, Wilco does our theme song. What more can you ask for?

Saratoga Shakespeare Company

    Saratoga Shakespeare Company’s free professional production of The Merry Wives of Windsor, gets underway next week. Directed by David Girard, the play will be set in 1930s Saratoga as part of the Saratoga 150 celebration.

Here to tell us more, we welcome Lary Opitz – who plays Falstaff and is the SSC Artistic Director. Yvonne Perry is also here – she plays Mistress Page - and Brenny Rabine plays Mistress Ford.

"The Center Holds" by Jonathan Alter

    Jonathan Alter is an analyst and contributing correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. He is a former senior editor and columnist for Newsweek, where he worked for twenty-eight years, writing more than fifty cover stories.

His new book, The Center Holds, tells the story of one of the most momentous contests in American history, the Battle Royale between President Obama and his enemies from the 2010 midterms through the 2013 inauguration.

Edward Villella at "The Ruby Ball" at SPAC

    Edward Villella, one of the most celebrated American male dancers in history, will be a special guest at the “The Ruby Ball” ballet gala Saturday, July 13, at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

The gala, a fundraiser to support New York City Ballet’s Saratoga season, will feature a performance of Balanchine’s “Rubies,” a role that Villella originated in 1967 while at New York City Ballet.

Woodstock Shakespeare Festival

    Woodstock Shakespeare Festival’s 18th summer season opens July 12th with The Winter’s Tale, one of the bard’s most fascinating late works.

Bird-On-A-Cliff Theatre Company performs The Winter’s Tale outdoors on an Elizabethan stage in Woodstock every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from July 12 through August 4.

David Aston-Reese is Co-Founder/Artistic Director of the company and stars in this production. Veteran actor and director Nicola Sheara directs.

Public Education/DSS Partnership

   Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth is one of New York State’s leading nonprofit child welfare agencies and has a distinguished history of working with children and families for 125 years.

On Thursday, May 23, representatives from the New York State Assembly and the New York State Department of Education joined dozens of school superintendents and agency officials at Questar III BOCES to announce a new partnership to support students, families and young adults in the Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties.

Weston Playhouse

    It has already been an exciting summer at the Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vermont - and the action continues with two productions opening soon. The Resident Producing Director of Weston, Steve Stettler, joins us along with actors Etai BenShlomo and Lauren Mufson.

Etai plays the role of Henry in the Pulitzer Prize winning musical, Next To Normal. He comes from a long run on Broadway in Wicked. With a Tony-winning rock score, Next to Normal peels back the facade of a suburban family dealing with mental illness and other contemporary American struggles.

  Lauren plays Lena in the new musical Loving Leo, a musical exploration of what it means to be a family.Lauren, played Donna on Broadway in Mamma Mia!
