WAMC's The Roundtable is an award-winning, nationally recognized eclectic talk program. The show airs from 9am to noon each weekday and features news, interviews, in-depth discussion, listener call-ins, music, and much (much) more! Hosted by Joe Donahue and produced by Sarah LaDuke, The Roundtable tackles serious and lighthearted subjects, looking to explore the many facets of the human condition with civility, respect and responsibility.

The show's hallmark is thoughtful interviews with A-list newsmakers, authors, artists, sports figures, actors, and people with interesting stories to tell. Since hitting the airwaves in May of 2001, The Roundtable has interviewed the likes of Arthur Miller, Kurt Vonnegut, Maya Angelou, Madeleine Albright, Jimmy Carter, John McCain, Bob Dole, Bill O'Reilly, Steve Martin, James Taylor, Bill Cosby, Stephen King, Melissa Etheridge and lots of other really cool people. Plus, Wilco does our theme song. What more can you ask for?

"A Great Wilderness" At Williamstown Theatre Festival

After decades as the gentle-natured leader of a Christian retreat that endeavors to “cure” gay teens, Walt is packing up his life and preparing for a reluctant retirement. But when his final client quietly disappears into the remote Idaho wilderness, Walt discovers that his previously unwavering moral compass no longer points the way.

A Great Wilderness is a play by Obie Award winner, Samuel D. Hunter. It is directed at Williamstown Theatre Festival by Eric Ting and stars Jeffrey DeMunn. The three join us to talk about the play, which runs on the Nikos Stage at WTF July 9-July 20.

Tanglewood - William Eddins

As we talked about earlier, celebrated soprano Renée Fleming opens the 2014 BSO season at Tanglewood in an all-American program. With the Boston Symphony, she will present great works of the American concert hall and opera stage, plus favorites from musical theatre and popular genres.

William Eddins is conducting the program along with Rob Fisher. Eddins is the Music Director of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a frequent guest conductor of major orchestras throughout the world.

Bill has been playing piano since he was five when his parents bought a Wurlitzer Grand piano at a garage sale. He started conducting during his sophomore year at the Eastman School of Music, and most of the '80s were spent trying to decide whether to pursue a career in conducting or piano.

The Tanglewood Grille is located just inside the Main Gate next to the Gift Shop. The Tanglewood Cafe is located between the Shed and the Lion's Gate. Both emphasize a farm-to-table, local menu dining right here at Tanglewood.

Tanglewood Executive Chef Joshua Ingraham joins us to tell us about the exciting food this amazing venue has to offer.
