The Roundtable

Weekdays, 9:00am

WAMC's The Roundtable is an award-winning, nationally recognized eclectic talk program. The show airs from 9am to noon each weekday and features news, interviews, in-depth discussion, listener call-ins, music, and much (much) more! Hosted by Joe Donahue and produced by Sarah LaDuke, The Roundtable tackles serious and lighthearted subjects, looking to explore the many facets of the human condition with civility, respect and responsibility.

The show's hallmark is thoughtful interviews with A-list newsmakers, authors, artists, sports figures, actors, and people with interesting stories to tell. Since hitting the airwaves in May of 2001, The Roundtable has interviewed the likes of Arthur Miller, Kurt Vonnegut, Maya Angelou, Madeleine Albright, Jimmy Carter, John McCain, Bob Dole, Bill O'Reilly, Steve Martin, James Taylor, Bill Cosby, Stephen King, Melissa Etheridge and lots of other really cool people. Plus, Wilco does our theme song. What more can you ask for?

Glens Falls Brewfest 4/5

It’s been … oh, about 2 long weeks since we talked about craft and local beer here on The Roundtable.

Let’s fix that now and mix it with talking about another thing we love: theater.

Tomorrow from 4-8 the Queensbury Hotel will host the Glens Falls Brewfest – a local beer event with proceeds going to support The Adirondack Theatre Festival and the Feeder Canal Alliance.

Here to tell us more are Mark Fleischer, Producing Artistic Director of Adirondack Theatre Festival and Bill Mason, one of the three volunteer organizers for the Glens Falls Brewfest. His day job is: co-owner, president and CEO of Takundewide Resort on Lake George.

"Gulp" by Mary Roach

Science writer, Mary Roach, started out as a magazine journalist, but eventually parlayed her column for Salon.com into her first book, Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. Next, she investigated the afterlife in Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife, then came Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex.

In Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal, Roach dives into the human body, beginning at the mouth, then moves, um, downward as she discusses digestion and elimination.
