Naumkeag is a National Historic Landmark in Stockbridge, MA run by the Trustees of Reservations. This architectural masterpiece is, at its heart, a family home. Joseph Choate, a leading 19th-century attorney, hired the architectural firm of McKim, Mead, & White to design the 44-room “cottage,” Naumkeag, which would serve as a summer retreat for three generations of Choates.

Turns out that the wonderful cruises we enjoy today are a direct result of the visionary naval architect William Francis Gibbs, who was obsessed with building the greatest ocean liner of all time a century ago and putting the USA at the top of the industry. Author Steven Ujifusa joins to discuss his new book, A Man and His Ship.

This Sunday, Helsinki Hudson in Hudson, New York launches their new “Helsinki on Broadway” cabaret series, presented in association with Showstoppers New York. Starting at 7pm, Faith Prince and Jason Graae will perform an evening entitled “The Prince and the Showboy” – they’ll sing their most requested Broadway tunes and pay tribute to Broadway composer, Jerry Herman.
