On today’s edition of Vox Pop, we will try to answer the question of whether those electeds who end up in hot water would’ve found themselves in a similar situation had they not held public office.

The Democratic National Convention kicked off last night with impassioned speeches by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and First Lady Michelle Obama.

On this edition of Vox Pop, we want your take on this political convention season – what do you make of the DNC thus far, what did you think of the RNC, and what do you think of the idea of party conventions in general? WAMC’s Alan Chartock hosts.

Today at 5 p.m., Democratic delegates from across the country will be called to order in Charlotte, North Carolina for the first evening of the Democratic National Convention, where on Thursday President Barack Obama will accept the party’s nomination and make his case for re-election.

The DNC follows last week’s Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, which concluded with a speech by GOP candidate Mitt Romney that some say gained him some ground with undecided voters.

Joining us on this edition of Medical Monday on Vox Pop to discuss cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery is Dr. Lewis Britton, head of cardiac surgery at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Britton specializes in a full range of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries, including aortic surgery, complex coronary surgery and minimally invasive valve surgery.

A graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, Dr. Britton completed his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and is board certified in thoracic surgery. WAMC’s Bob Barrett hosts.
