The program is hosted by WAMC Senior Correspondent Brian Shields who has been with WAMC for 15 years as senior news anchor, host and reporter.

Mass. Secretary of Public Safety Makes First Stop in Berkshires

Massachusetts’ new Secretary of Public Safety began a tour of the commonwealth today with a stop in Lenox to meet with public safety officials from several Berkshire County communities.

Recently appointed Public Safety Secretary Andrea Cabral visited with members of the public including lawmakers, building inspectors, fire chiefs, and law enforcement from across Berkshire County at the Lenox town hall.

Cabral, a former sheriff of Suffolk County, said in listening to concerns from the public she learned a great deal about the Berkshires.

Positive News For Some New York Utility Customers

New York utility regulators have approved new electricity and natural gas delivery rates for National Grid.

The Public Service Commission says the company will be allowed to collect a total of $123 million more electric revenue and almost $9 million more gas revenue over three years.

Sullivan BOE Agrees To Provide Voting Materials in Spanish

New York State’s Attorney General and the Sullivan County Board of Elections have reached an agreement to help ensure that language is not a barrier when it comes time to vote on Election Day.

Ann Prusinski is the Democratic Commissioner of the Sullivan County Board of Elections.
