The program is hosted by WAMC Senior Correspondent Brian Shields who has been with WAMC for 24 years as senior news anchor, host and reporter.

Bisco Fans Wondering Where They'll Be Camping Next

A controversial Schenectady County annual music festival has been called off this year. But some fans said they saw it coming.

For more than a decade, thousands of electronic music fans have flocked to Camp Bisco, held for the past seven years at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, located in the Town of Duanesburg, New York — including Joe Marchitto of Burnt Hills, who first attended in 2011, and returned for two more festivals.

Marchitto said his favorite part of the festival is the extensive list of musicians who have played each year.

Glens Falls Prepares For Basketball Tournament Weekend

Thousands of spectators are expected head to Glens Falls for the return of a statewide high school basketball tournament this weekend. But the long-term sports future in the city is once again unclear. 

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Boys’ Basketball Championships will return to the Glens Falls Civic starting Friday afternoon and running through Sunday.

The Civic Center has been home to the state tourney ever since its rebirth three decades ago. Jeremy Heulsing, general manager of the venue, said this year, thousands are expected to attend.

Albany County has responded to mounting concerns voiced by city of Albany residents over oil trains and oil expansion at the Port of Albany.

"It's gratifying that the county of Albany has stepped into the void and is taking action."  Earthjustice staff attorney Chris D'Amato echoes the sentiments of a variety of green groups that have come forward lauding Albany County Executive Dan McCoy's decision to take a stand against plans to build oil heating facilities at the port that would likely increase the number of oil trains rolling through riverside neighborhoods.
