The program is hosted by WAMC Senior Correspondent Brian Shields who has been with WAMC for 24 years as senior news anchor, host and reporter.

All of the Albany County Democratic party's sitting state and federal lawmakers have been backed for reelection this fall. The Albany County Democratic Committee’s candidate review panel has unanimously recommended endorsing all incumbents.

At a public meeting hosted by EDC Warren County at Crandall Library in Glens Falls, State Senator Betty Little and Assemblyman Dan Stec, both Republicans, answered questions and offered their thoughts on what is included — and what is not included — in Governor Cuomo’s budget proposal, and other matters facing lawmakers this year.

While the discussion covered topics ranging from infrastructure to the SAFE Act, the majority of the conversation focused on education.

Audrey Kupferberg: Shirley Temple

Shirley Temple died recently at the age of 85.  Her film career began when she was about 4 years of age, and she starred in motion pictures with phenomenal success through the age of 21.  During the mid-late 1930s, her box office power outdid the power of such stars as Clark Gable and Joan Crawford.  At that time, when much of the population of the United States was struggling through the Great Depression, little Shirley Temple was dancing, singing, and genuinely charming her way into the hearts of a nation.
