The program is hosted by WAMC Senior Correspondent Brian Shields who has been with WAMC for 24 years as senior news anchor, host and reporter.

Candidate In Saratoga County Sheriff's Race Files Vandalism Complaints Over Missing Signs

Jeff Gildersleeve, a Republican candidate in the Saratoga County sheriff’s race, said that hundreds of "Gildersleeve for Sheriff” campaign lawn signs have been damaged or stolen during August.

"We are probably at this point close to 400 sings that are missing overall," said Gildersleeve.

Gildersleeve said the signs cost his campaign around $2.50 a piece – adding up to a loss of about $1,000 for the damaged or missing signs.

Gildersleeve filed vandalism complaints this week with local and state law enforcement agencies after hearing complaints from supporters.

NY Secretary Of State Visits Walkway Over The Hudson

New York’s Secretary State was in two Hudson Valley counties this afternoon as he toured Walkway Over the Hudson.

Secretary of State Cesar Perales visited Walkway Over the Hudson, starting in Poughkeepsie, on the Dutchess County side. His visit was to see how Department of State projects that are already funded are progressing, and hear about where more money is needed.

Blair Horner: Weak Regulations Fail To Protect Children

One year ago, Governor Cuomo signed a law prohibiting the use of indoor tanning facilities by minors under the age of 17.  The reason that this restriction became law was the mounting evidence that indoor tanning is dangerous – particularly to young people.  The more you indoor tan, the more likely you will get skin cancer.
