Air Force Real Property Agency

The final parcels of U.S. Air Force property at the former air force base in Plattsburgh was formally transferred to the county Wednesday.

The Plattsburgh Air Force Base began operations in 1954, and closed in September 1995 following the third round of base Realignment and Closures. Since then the Plattsburgh Airbase Redevelopment Corporation - known as PARC - has worked with the Air Force Real Property Agency to redevelop the property. On Wednesday afternoon, the Air Force transferred ownership of the final parcels to the local community.
