One week from primary day, there are four mayoral debates to go in Albany.

Less than two weeks before primary day, the Albany Democratic mayoral candidates were back on the dais last night, fielding questions on issues unaddressed in previous forums. For the first time, they were joined by Green Party candidates.

Once again, the three Democratic candidates for Albany mayor will get together for a pre-primary debate tonight. This time they will be joined by Green Party candidates.

“It is great to welcome back professional basketball to the Washington Avenue Armory and the Capital Region. I can’t wait for the first tip off,” said Assemblymember John T. McDonald III.

The administration of Mayor Kathy Sheehan unveiled a new online GIS tool today that will allow the public access to City of Albany property and zoning information in real time.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos joined other officials Wednesday at Albany's Ezra Prentice Homes.  The visit comes amid ongoing discussion about quality-of-life in the city's South End.

Like New York, Chicago, Boston and others before it, the Capital Region entered the bike share era today. This morning Capital District Physicians Health Plan and the Capital District Transportation Authority officially launched the "Cycle!"  program in Albany's Washington Park.

With September fast approaching, the city of Albany's political climate is heating up as mayoral candidates strive to bring their messages to the citizens.

Many of the city's dilapidated structures are marked with a red "X" which lets emergency responders know the building is on the "too dangerous to enter" list.

With a major downtown fire and a building’s near-collapse making headlines in recent days, Albany officials say local officials remain committed to rehabbing blighted blocks.

Earlier this week, Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Troy Mayor Patrick Madden and Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy promoted the “Sound The Alarm” to install 1,000 free smoke alarms across the tri-cities Oct. 14.

A huge Monday night fire has changed the landscape of an Albany neighborhood, while the hunt is on across the river in Troy for an arsonist believed responsible for a string of recent fires.
