Sharon Isbin Guitar Passions Tour

    Three master guitarists meet to perform an exquisite evening of classical, jazz and Latin music. Classical guitarist Sharon Isbin is joined by the iconic jazz master Stanley Jordan and Brazil’s leading guitarist Romero Lubambo.

The Guitar Passions tour will make two stops in our region early next month - at The Egg in Albany, NY on 2/5 and at The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie, NY on 2/7.

Sharon Isbin joins us to tell us more.

The Bardavon Launches Four Seasons of the Hudson Valley

There’s a new festival in New York. It’s called Four Seasons of the Hudson Valley, and the hope is to help revitalize two cities and their waterfronts through the arts. The Festival is a partnership between the The Bardavon 1869 Opera House and a host of Hudson Valley community organizations.

David Sedaris - One new book and three regional shows

    David Sedaris' new book, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls, will be released by Little Brown on April 23rd.

The satirist and public radio favorite will be at three venues in three different cities in our region: The Bardavon on 4/5The Mahaiwe on 4/6, and The Egg on 4/11.

Vassar Repertory Dance Theatre's 31st Annual Gala at The Bardavon

    The Vassar Repertory Dance Theatre's annual gala performances at The Bardavon is in its 31st year. The events celebrate both brand new and classic works by a very talented company of dancers.

There will be two performances at The Bardavon this weekend, one at 8pm on Saturday and one at 3pm on Sunday.

Eddie Izzard at The Bardavon

British comedian Eddie Izzard will bring his brilliant and unique form of stand-up comedy to the stage at The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie, New York this Saturday, February 16th (as of this posting, tickets are available for the 6pm show, available on The Bardavon website or by calling 845-473-2072).

Comedian, dramatic actor of stage and screen, activist, transvestite, marathon runner, any one descriptor (or even a bundle of them) applied to Izzard would fail to summarize his career or the man himself. Still - with his help - we try in this segment.

Paco Peña at The Bardavon 1/20

    As guitarist, composer, dramatist, producer and artistic mentor, Paco Peña, has transformed perceptions of this Flamenco Spanish art form. His company of musicians and dancers has been dazzling audiences for decades.
