Today’s word of the day on Sesame Street was champion. I know because I watched it with my three year old Elliot. They talked about what it means to be a champion, at least in the context of life sized muppets and their human friends. As a guest on the show, LA Clippers forward Blake Griffin contested a muppet chicken in a rooster calling contest. And, spoiler alert, Blake won. So he was the champion.
In the NBA, the Chicago Bulls beat the Brooklyn Nets 90-82 on Monday night to even their first-round series at one game apiece. Carlos Boozer had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Brook Lopez scored 21 points for the Nets.
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Clippers are heading to Memphis after grabbing a two-games-to-none lead in the NBA's Western Conference quarterfinals. Chris Paul hit a floater with 0.1 seconds left to give the Clippers a 93-91 victory over the Grizzlies. Blake Griffin finished with 21 points.
