The candidates in the Massachusetts special election to replace U.S. Senator John Kerry have been forced to walk a delicate balance as they court voters ahead of Tuesday's primary elections.

They suspended campaign activities for roughly a week after the Boston Marathon bombings, which took place 15 days before the Republican and Democratic primaries. After resuming campaigning, they have largely avoided the site of the attack out of sensitivity for victims.

The officials made the assessment after Tsarnaev was interrogated in his hospital room, where he's being treated for severe wounds allegedly suffered during violent encounters with law enforcement following the Boston Marathon bombings.

And a law enforcement official says authorities have spotted an image of someone who could be a potential suspect in the bombings, but they haven't identified that person.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama is traveling to Boston this morning to pay tribute to the victims in the Boston Marathon bomb attack.

Keith Strudler: Boston Tragedy

In 2001, when I was younger and all that goes with that, I was on the US Maccabiah Games triathlon team that would compete in the so-called Jewish Olympics held in Israel every four years. As my friend put it, I wanted to be the world’s fastest Jewish triathlete, something I didn’t do when I competed in the Games four years prior in 1997.

The victims of the Boston Marathon bombings were remembered throughout the sports world last night. The Red Sox and Indians wore black armbands in Cleveland, while several teams including the Yankees played the Fenway Park favorite "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond. Furthermore, the Celtics postponed their game against Indiana and in the NHL the Bruins game was also postponed.

Checking baseball news, Boston used a seven-run second inning to rip the Indians 7-2. Mike Napoli capped the rally with a three-run double, one day after his walk-off double against Tampa Bay.
