This coming fall, Chicago, Kander and Ebb’s merry-murderess musical, will have been running on Broadway for 20 years.

To celebrate, six-time Tony Award-winning costume designer William Ivey Long will be revising some of his Tony-nominated designs for the show, there will be a special SummerStage concert in Central Park in August, and Takarazuka, the all-female Japanese musical revue troupe, will celebrate the centennial of their founding with its first appearance in New York in over 25 years with "Takarazuka Chicago," marking the first time ever that two identical productions in two different languages will be running at the same time in NYC. That’s happening in July.

Right now, the role of Billy Flynn, the silver-tongued solicitor and suave defender of Roxy Hart, is being played by Jason Danieley. On Broadway, Jason played Candide in the 1997 revival of Candide, Malcolm MacGregor in The Full Monty, Aaron Fox in Curtains, and Frederich Kuhn in The Visit.

The Boston Pops recently had a special guest performer.

In today’s Congressional Corner, Massachusetts Representative Richard Neal tells WAMC’s Alan Chartock about his big night.

Tony and Emmy Award winning star Kristin Chenoweth will perform with The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra in The Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood.

Chenoweth most recently wowed audiences in Roundabout Theatre Company's production of On the Twentieth Century. During that run she co-hosted the Tony Awards. Other Broadway credits include You're A Good Man Charlie Brown and Wicked. On television she's popped up often, notably on Glee, The Good Wife, and Pushing Daisies.

Dennis Alves has been the Director of Artistic Planning for The Boston Pops for 25 years. Prior to that he played trumpet in the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. He was twice a Tanglewood Music Center Fellow and before that studied in Lenox as part of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.

Needless to say, he knows the lay of the land and can tell us a lot about Tanglewood on Parade.

The Boston Pops’ concerts are a huge part of what make a Tanglewood season. Already this year the pops have performed with Sheryl Crow and presented a Simply Sondheim evening.

This coming Sunday, July 5th they’ll be joined in The Shed by the incredible singer and actress Bernadette Peters. Keith Lockhart is the conductor of The Boston Pops – and is celebrating 20th years in that post this year!

Star of stage and screen - Bernadette Peters will once again join The Boston Pops in The Shed at Tanglewood for an afternoon of song on July 5th.

The Wizard of Oz was a technical marvel for the MGM studio in the late 1930s. MGM has stunningly re-mastered this timeless classic, and in a version, produced by John Goberman, the brilliantly restored images are accompanied by a the Boston Pops playing entirely new transcriptions of Harold Arlen's brilliant lost scores.

The Boston Pops' conductor, Keith Lockhart, joins us to talk about the challenges and wonders of this special presentation which will be in The Shed at Tanglewood on 8/22.

This Sunday, country star, Vince Gill, will perform with The Boston Pops in the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA.

The country singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and member of the Grand Ole Opry has been honored by the Country Music Association with 18 CMA Awards, including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards.
