There’s an optimistic outlook on the job market these days, with unemployment rates at lower levels. That’s great news for those of us who are looking for jobs. But that’s only half the story of getting a job. The other half is landing it, and that requires resumes, interview skills and branding yourself. Bob Frederick, director of Career and Transfer Services at Schenectady County Community College, and Anita DeCianni Brown, collegewide career development coordinator at SUNY Empire State College here to answer your questions.

Alan is joined by Susan Crandell, a freelance writer and editor based in Cornwall-on-Hudson who spent three decades editing magazines like Travel & Leisure and Smart Money. After six years as editor in chief at More magazine, Crandell quit, and soon after published the book Thinking About Tomorrow: Reinventing Yourself at Midlife. She is a Capital Region native and graduate of Middlebury College.
