An open house to present the findings of the I-787/Hudson Waterfront Corridor Study will be held tonight in Albany.

Jeff Pangburn of Creighton Manning Engineering says phase two begins in July; it will bring the new configuration all the way downtown.

A successful radical remake along a busy stretch of Albany’s Madison Avenue will extend to where the street meets Lark and Delaware further downtown. WAMC's Capital Region Bureau Chief Dave Lucas was at the College of St. Rose Thursday night for a public meeting on phase two of the “road diet.”

"Complete Streets" policy requires that a municipal roadway accommodate all users — cars, buses, bicyclists, pedestrians — regardless of age or ability. Some Delaware Avenue residents are meeting this hour at Bethlehem Town Hall, with a "road diet" in mind.

Albany Mayor-elect Kathy Sheehan has been elected as the next chair for the Capital District Transportation Committee.

The CDTC handles federal transportation funding and programming for Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties. The agency nominated Sheehan last month and unanimously elected her as chairperson at the CDTC’s Policy Committee meeting on Dec. 5th.

The Committee meets regularly to develop the region’s Transportation Improvement Program and New Visions long-range transportation plan.
