Gregory Crewdson / Beneath the Roses

Filmmaker, Ben Shapiro, shot Brief Encounters for over a decade - the same decade that photographer, Gregory Crewdson filled with creating Beneath the Roses - an extensive series of pictures shot in and around the hilltowns of Massachusetts. As a result, we are privy to an amazingly detailed glimpse of the artist at work.

Seminal and influential performance artist, Marina Abramović, joins us to talk about the documentary, Marina Abramović: The Artist is Present, which is screening at the Berkshire International Film Festival on Friday, June 1st at The Mahaiwe. The film was made leading up to and during her MOMA retrospective exhibition of the same name.
