Founding Member Of The Fab Faux - Will Lee

    

  As part of its ongoing NY Living Legacy Project, The Egg Performing Arts Center will explore the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ arrival in New York with a number of performances and related events from February 6 through 15. The celebration will include a series of multi-media events in eight area community centers and be highlighted by two performances at The Egg. One of the featured concerts at The Egg will be The Fab Faux, they'll perform on February 15.

Bassist, Will Lee, is one of the founders of The Fab Faux - he's probably best known his work on The Late Show with David Letterman as part of the CBS Orchestra.

Sharon Isbin Guitar Passions Tour

    Three master guitarists meet to perform an exquisite evening of classical, jazz and Latin music. Classical guitarist Sharon Isbin is joined by the iconic jazz master Stanley Jordan and Brazil’s leading guitarist Romero Lubambo.

The Guitar Passions tour will make two stops in our region early next month - at The Egg in Albany, NY on 2/5 and at The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie, NY on 2/7.

Sharon Isbin joins us to tell us more.

Pulitzer Prize winner Charles H. Fuller at The Egg on 4/18

  The African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region is committed to educating, enriching, and empowering residents of the Capital Region through a variety of programs that raise the collective consciousness of all ethnicities to the rich and vibrant history, contribution, and culture of African Americans.

This Thursday, April 18th, The African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region will hold a Gala fundraiser in the Swyer Theater at The Egg in Albany, New York.

The evening will include performances of scenes from A Soldier's Play, by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Charles H. Fuller, a conversation with -and award presentation to- Fuller – and more.

David Sedaris - One new book and three regional shows

    David Sedaris' new book, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls, will be released by Little Brown on April 23rd.

The satirist and public radio favorite will be at three venues in three different cities in our region: The Bardavon on 4/5The Mahaiwe on 4/6, and The Egg on 4/11.

Josh Ritter: Coming Out of the Dark Clouds

    About two years ago, singer-songwriter Josh Ritter’s heart was broken. He and his wife of a few years decided to separate and while writing and publishing a novel, keeping up a healthy touring schedule, and releasing an EP – Josh wrote new songs to help himself understand and heal.

The songs add up to his forthcoming album The Beast in its Tracks which is available for pre-order and will be released on March 5th. In a statement on his website announcing the record, Josh wrote: "All heartbreak is awful – my broken heart wasn’t unique. But writing these songs was helping me get through the night and I didn’t have the strength to care or question."

    Stand-up comedian, Marc Maron, kicks of his “Out of the Garage” Tour at The Egg in Albany, NY this Friday, February 1st.

The title of the show refers to the home-studio in his garage – the primary location used to record his very popular podcast “WTF with Marc Maron.” The podcast features perceptive stream-of-consciousness introductions and lengthy (usually one-on-one, occasionally one-on-two for example: Tenacious D) conversations with iconic entertainment personalities. The podcast premiered in 2009 and regularly hits #1 on iTunes and has been called a “must-listen” by Vanity Fair, The New York Times, and many other publications and entertainment websites.
