Denver, CO – Vermont's senior Senator Patrick Leahy made remarks Tuesday at the Democratic National Convention. He emphasized that rural Americans have been hurt more than the country as a whole by the Bush administration's economic policies. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more.
Albany, NY – The Democratic National Convention is "extremely important" for Barack Obama to tighten his support among the base of Democratic voters, according to pollster John Zogby. The latest Zogby poll indicated Obama trailing McCain by five points nationally.
"[Obama] has been in a tailspin. He had a bad month," Zogby said.
Zogby said that Obama must use the convention as an opportunity to unite the Democratic Party.
Burlington, VT – Some supporters of Vermont Independent Gubernatorial Candidate Anthony Pollina, who have contributed more than a thousand dollars to his campaign, plan to file a lawsuit against state officials who say the candidate has to return some of that money.
